    How long have you been in Business?
    We opened our doors in 2003 with 4 staff members, since then we have expanded our office 4 times and now have 14 staff members.

    How many people have done homestays with you?
    We have done over 700 individual homestays and 18 groups. We are happy to provide references from your own home country.

    What nationalities participate in your program?
    We have hosted people from 47 different countries, and our programs are open to all nationalities.

  • Which cities can I stay in?

    We have homestays available in 28 different cities, so just check with us to see if your destination is available.
  • How long before my arrival should I apply?

    We prefer that you apply 2 months before your arrival to ensure the best match but we if an emergency arises we can arrange homestays in as little as 3 days.
  • What kind of conditions will the family be?

    All of our families go through our very strict screening process which can take months before they are accepted. All families must live in large houses with at least one spare bedroom, internet and state of the art bathrooms.
  • How long is the application process?

    We can usually approve applications within 72 hours of receiving all the necessary info.
  • Can I stay in multiple cities?

    Yes we can arrange multiple cities for you, but their may be minimum stay requirements for some of the host families usually around 30days.
  • Is there anything to prepare before I move in?

    In China it is customary to bring a small gift when you arrive from another country. This will go along way to breaking the ice when you first meet your hosts. Also bringing pictures of your house and family can also be a good idea.
  • What should I do if my plans change?

    Please let us know asap if there are any changes to your arrival plans so we can notify your family immediately and make alternate arrangements for you.

  • Is there a curfew?

    There are no curfews but families with young children usually prefer someone to be home earlier. If you are a night person than we will usually match you with smaller family or couple so this won't be a problem.
  • Can I use the laundry facilities?

    You are welcome to use all utilities and facilities in our host families.
  • Can I smoke in the house?

    95% of our families are non-smoking, if you are asmoker please let us know in your application so we can match you accordingly.
  • I'm a vegetarian, is that a problem?

    No this is not a problem, just let us know in the application process so we can place you accordingly.

  • Can I use my mobile phone there?

    We can prepare a SIM card for you before you arrive for 15EUR. This includes your number and about 1 month of airtime.
  • How about banking?

    It is very easy to open a Bank Account in China, all you need is your passport. We can take you to the bank as well after your arrival to do this. Checks are not accepted anywhere in the PRC and credit cards are still only valid in expensive boutiques and hotels; so please be prepared to pay all your bills in cash.
  • How much money should I expect to spend each month?

    Most of our guests tell us that 300EUR is more than enough to get by comfortably in Beijing.

  • What is the minimum amount of time I should study to notice improvement?

    Students will notice a large improvement after just 2 months, and can become conversational in just 4 months.
  • How many people in each class?

    Our average class size is 2 and the maximum is 3 students. This is designed to maximize the amount of the time the teacher can spend with you individually and provides you with ample time to speak Chinese.
  • What are the qualifications of your teachers?

    All of teachers have Masters degrees in education with at least 6 years of teaching experience.
